What Is Hire a Pro?
Hire a Pro connects you with a financial and business planning expert who reviews your plan, models, or business details and provides actionable feedback.
It is designed for founders and operators who want a human expert to sanity-check their numbers, stress-test their assumptions, or prepare a plan for a lender or investor meeting.
- Plan review — an expert reads and annotates your Funderly business plan.
- Financial modelling — deeper analysis of your projections and assumptions.
- Lender readiness — review from the perspective of a loan officer or investor.
How to Submit a Request
Open any idea from your dashboard and click Hire a Pro in the left sidebar. The form pre-fills your plan details and locks the submission type to your Funderly plan.
Fill in the summary, funding goal, financial readiness level, and any specific concerns you want the pro to focus on. You can also attach a deadline if you need the review by a certain date.
- From an idea sidebar: links the request directly to that plan.
- From the public Hire a Pro page: for uploaded documents or general business details.
- Only one active request per idea is allowed at a time.
What Happens After You Submit
After submitting, the request moves to Submitted status. The Funderly team reviews it and contacts you by email or phone within 24–48 hours with payment instructions.
Once payment is confirmed, the request moves to In Review. The pro completes their analysis and delivers findings to you directly.
- Submitted → the team has received your request.
- Contacted → the team has reached out to you.
- Awaiting payment → payment link or details have been sent.
- Paid → payment confirmed, review begins.
- In review → the expert is actively reviewing your plan.
- Completed → review delivered.
Tips for a Better Review
The more context you give the pro, the more focused and useful the feedback will be. Vague summaries lead to general observations. Specific concerns and constraints lead to pointed, actionable advice.
Make sure your Funderly plan is fully generated and up to date before submitting. The pro will review what is in the plan at the time of submission.
- Describe your top one or two concerns clearly in the main concerns field.
- Include your funding goal and target use of funds.
- Regenerate any stale sections before submitting.
- Add a deadline only if you have a real meeting or lender date approaching.
Pricing
Hire a Pro is a flat rate of $399 per review. There are no additional fees beyond that.
Payment is handled after the team contacts you — you do not pay at the point of submission. This allows the team to confirm scope before processing.
